Visit London is the official visitor organisation for the capital. Our aim is to promote London as the world’s most exciting city by marketing to domestic and overseas leisure and business visitors, as well as Londoners themselves. The Role
Management accounts
- Assist the Financial Controller with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including P&L statement, balance sheet and accompanying narrative business performance
- Preparation and posting of NL journals
- Completion of assigned balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis
- Assist with the development and maintenance of systems that ensure all financial commitments are recorded against the relevant budget
- Ensuring commitment records are reconciled on a monthly basis
- Liaising with Budget Holders to ensure that income and expenditure commitments are within budget
Statutory accounts
- Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts, including updating statutory accounts model, preparation of some notes to accounts and supporting working papers
Budgeting
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budgets, including collation and review of budget holders’ initial proposals
- Preparation of annual budget book. Updating budget throughout year with budget adjustments
Cash Flow Forecasting
- Maintenance of daily cash flow forecasting and carrying out daily transfers to a call account
Ledgers
- Processing expense claims ensuring that they are valid, authorised and contain the appropriate back up
- Providing cover for both purchase and sales ledger when Accounts Assistant is absent
Controls
- Contributing to the team target of ensuring that financial procedures are being adhered to by Visit London staff
VAT
- Preparation of VAT Return for review by Finance Director. Advise budget holders on correct VAT treatment
Ad Hoc
- Ad hoc project work, including some systems development
The Candidate
- Previous accounting experience in a medium/large sized company
- CIMA, ACCA or CIPFA part qualified (minimum 50% completed)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
- Advanced Excel
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Proactive and organised
- Ability to prioritise
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Passionate about London
