Visit London is the official visitor organisation for the capital. Our aim is to promote London as the world’s most exciting city by marketing to domestic and overseas leisure and business visitors, as well as Londoners themselves. The Role
The technical project manager will plan, manage and control development and deployment of work in the digital department via the production and operations teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of all projects.
Main Responsibilities

Gather project requirements (business, functional & technical) and initiate project plan

Adhere to agreed product development process
- Organise resources based on business priorities set
- Manage project through full life cycle
- Track progress and adapt plan accordingly
- Facilitate communicate with all stakeholders
- Liaise with internal clients, producers, IA, design, developers, analyst & marketing
- Ensure stated requirements are fulfilled in end product
- Apply expertise to finding best solution
- Manage QA & thoroughly test all new functionality prior to release to live environment
- Properly document all projects
- Manage multiple projects and dependencies
Other Duties

Liaise with IT team to ensure web hosting is adequate for expected loads
- Work closely with technical lead to ensure proposed solution is best possible
- Remain as agile as possible in terms of development
- Improve the department's effectiveness in delivering projects both large and small
- Help develop and document appropriate and formal processes for the efficient development of projects
- Promote the effective use of Trac and the process around it so that work is efficiently raised and executed
- Monitor the progress of projects in the Trac system
- Actively monitor project progress and identify problems and issues as early as possible
- Initiate discussions to resolve development project issues
- Assist the team in efficiently communicating with suppliers
- Help develop annual roadmap with ops manager

including search optimised product database and fully segmented user database - Fully upgraded & comprehensively used content management system
- Reporting dashboard
The Candidate
- Working knowledge of MS Project software
- Prince qualification an advantage
- Project management experience
- Software or web developer experience
- Working knowledge of the following technologies an advantage – open source, java, postgres, linux,, xslt, html, etc.
- Web experience vital
- E-commerce experience an advantage
- Knowledge of online travel sector preferred
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Collaborative working
- Track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
