Visit London is the official visitor organisation for the capital. Our aim is to promote London as the world’s most exciting city by marketing to domestic and overseas leisure and business visitors, as well as Londoners themselves. We are a dynamic, fast moving, marketing lead organisation with approx. 70 staff that represents some of the best talent in the business. Our HQ is located in new state-of-the-art offices near Tower Bridge, with an in-house TV studio and other outstanding facilities. We also operate a Global Sales Offices in New York and India.
Purpose
The Long Haul Business Tourism team promotes London as “the” international destination for business travel in North America and Asia Pacific regions. The sales process requires the team to developing relationships with key corporate buyers, meeting planners and influencers in the conference, incentive and association markets and to work with VL partners to deliver successful bids and grow match funding revenue.
The Role
- Contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of the sales & marketing business plan for the NA & AP business travel market, targeting the conference and incentive sectors (including association).
- Work with Partner Marketing Manager to promote Long Haul marketing opportunities to VL partners, securing active participation.
- Generate group business enquiries (RFIs & RFPs) for VL Event Solutions Team.
- Deliver presentations to key clients about the London product and services.
- Plan, organize and manage VL’s participation at regional events and exhibitions.
- Key account management: maintaining regional client database on IDSS.
- Organise site inspections, FAM trips and sales missions for Long Haul clients to secure more business for London.
- Leverage relationship with VisitBritain and other representative bodies to promote London.
- Take an active role within industry associations such as MPI, SITE and ASAE.
- Work with regional PR agents to generate PR opportunities for VL in NA and AP.
- Regular reporting on sales activity and business secured versus targets.
- Day to day budget management: raising purchase orders & commitment records.
- Manage day to day administration and other reasonable duties as allocated by the line manager.

Skill Set
- 3 years proven sales success in travel & tourism and/or meetings & incentives.
- In-depth knowledge of the London business tourism product
- In-depth working knowledge of the North American and Asia Pacific meetings and incentive market
- Strong presentation, sales negotiation and networking skills
- Ability to prioritize work whilst working remotely
- Clear and concise communicator, internally and externally
