Terms and Conditions of Partnership

Visit London is a professional organisation dedicated to working with and promoting like-minded companies. In order to ensure that we achieve this, we ask you to subscribe to the following terms and conditions:

  • Visit London expects all partners to maintain the highest standards of service and professionalism at all times and to enhance the reputation of London as a major tourist destination.
  • All applications are subject to positive references. The status of limited companies will be verified through Companies House.
  • All partners offering accommodation must complete a database questionnaire each year in order to appear in annual tourist board publications.
  • All hotel, guest house, bed and breakfast accommodation (except youth accommodation) with 50 bedrooms or fewer must participate in the national quality standards scheme.
  • All self-catering accommodation with 10 units or fewer must participate in the national quality standards scheme.
  • All youth accommodation, and any other accommodation exempt by size from the foregoing conditions, must be inspected by VL before being accepted into partnership.
  • Accommodation partners removed from the national quality standards scheme because they fail to meet minimum standards will be automatically disqualified. The accommodation must achieve classified status before it is eligible to re-apply.
  • Partners in the hotel, guest house, bed and breakfast accommodation category, with 50 bedrooms or fewer, and self-catering accommodation with 10 units or fewer, who do not renew their quality standards classification or leave the scheme for any reason will be automatically disqualified
  • Organisations accepted into partnership with VL will be notified in writing.
  • Partnership with VL is not transferable.
  • As a registered trademark, the London Marque / Membership Marque must not be used on merchandise, packaging or anything produced for commercial sale. Use in such a situation is subject to negotiation with VL.
  • VL reserves the right not to accept organisations into partnership which do not meet standards as set out herein.
  • VL reserves the right to expel from partnership any organisation which fails to comply with these standards.
  • VL does not usually accept applications for partnership from businesses or associations which have been trading for less than one year, although at VL’s discretion this rule can be waived.
  • Organisations based out of London should be members of their regional board in order to be eligible to apply for partnership with VL.
  • Partners who fail to settle accounts with VL by the designated date will be automatically disqualified.
  • It is the policy of VL not to make refunds on partnership subscriptions.
  • Any organisation joining between May and February will be charged the annual subscription in full and upon renewal (the following April), will receive a pro rata credit for the appropriate number of months. Should the organisation not renew its partnership, the credited months will be forfeited.
  • VL does not accept advertising, either on its website or in print media, from accommodation booking agencies, London information/destination websites, or any businesses of a dubious nature.
