Visit London, the capital's official visitor organisation, is launching 2 new websites at IMEX. International and German buyers visiting the Visit London stand (F400) can experience both the revamped visitlondon.com/business and brand new London Heathrow Gateway website, at first hand on special touch screens.

Visit London's official event organisers' website is an invaluable tool for meeting and event planners wanting to find fresh and inspirational ideas for their next event. It also has plenty of useful tips and recommendations for business travellers.
The new, enriched content is a product of months of consultation with event organisers, London suppliers and the Visit London Event Solutions team. Breaking news and the latest developments on the London event scene are provided by Mike Fletcher, former editor of Event and RSVP UK magazines. Features and case studies also take prominence on the site.
Visit London's Business Marketing Manager, Séverine Ougier, says: "We wanted to ensure planners had the right tools to organise their event in our city – from general destination information and the initial search of venues and services, to a comprehensive and easy-to-use request for proposal process and an enhanced marketing tool kit. Tips on how Visit London can unlock the capital's amazing event opportunities for planners were the main thought process behind the revamp."
Visit London's European Sales Manager, Barbara Jamison, adds: "Our website has been designed to make the first approach – and all the following steps involved in the process of planning an event – as inspiring and as stress-free as possible. The touch screens we have at IMEX are the perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate the enhanced facilities of the site to buyers and prospects."
The key enhancements of the website include:
- An advanced venue and service search
This intuitive resource allows planners to search by a combination of room capacities, venue styles and types (traditional, modern, museum, etc.), breakout rooms and bed spaces. - A London events calendar
This function includes listings of all major public, sporting and business events (such as association congresses and conferences) taking place in London up until 2012. - A 3-way proposal submitting process
Planners wanting to submit a proposal will be able to either simply upload their brief, fill in a comprehensive and intuitive RFP creator or get a call back from the London experts by submitting a simple pre-populated 'contact me' message. - Improved supplier listings, including the ability to show videos on partner pages.
- An enhanced planning toolkit providing planners with downloadable resources such as promotional html banners, videos, PowerPoint® templates, pictures and guides.
- Up-to-the minute news for global event planners

At IMEX Visit London will also launch another website; London Heathrow Gateway has been produced to promote the amazing pool of affordable and flexible meeting space and accommodation at London Heathrow. The website also shows some of the unlimited incentive and post-conference opportunities around the area.
Visit London's European Sales Manager, Barbara Jamison, explains: "London's West region has always been a key player within the London meetings and events scene due to its location near Heathrow airport, its state-of-the-art meetings facilities, and close reach to central London and the rest of the UK. The developments at London Heathrow with the recent opening of Terminal 5 and launch of new and renovated hotels in the vicinity, means that more than ever, the London Heathrow region is reinforcing its position as the gateway to London and the rest of the UK."
Visit London's Business Marketing Manager, Séverine Ougier, says: "European planners are extremely web savvy so we needed to create a novel site which would offer a great alternative to the more traditional websites most commonly found in the industry. To show how dynamic and inspiring the Heathrow region is, we needed to create a high-quality website with vibrant and entertaining animations. The Flash-embedded-within-html www.londonheathrowgateway.com website enables us to do just that."
An easily reached destination from anywhere in the world, London Heathrow provides the perfect solution for organisers of large events – it is time planners put London Heathrow on their radar.
The London Heathrow Gateway website forms part of a much more extensive gateway campaign which Visit London will unveil throughout 2008/9.
Visit London is on stand F400 at IMEX taking place from 22-24 Apr 2008 in Frankfurt.
